New website coming soon. While we are working on it, some items pictured may not actually be in stock. Gazillions of items ARE in stock (in store), but are not pictured online. We apologize for any incovencience and thank you for your pateince while we begrudgingly attempt to exit the 1990's and acheive a functioning (and at least an early 2000's era) website!

Our Story

Bringing happiness to your homes is our calling.

Shop the Tree House was founded in 2012 after designers Melyn Einhaus and Susan Evans met and decided to work together and bring their dreams of having a brick and mortar shop to life. Melyn loved to travel and find unique products from around the world and Susan loved to decorate and work on unique design projects. The two stumbled upon an amazing vacant house nestled amongst oak trees on Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley, Texas, and the rest is history! Over eight years later, the size of the business and inventory selection has expanded tremendously, but the same love is put into the selection and curation of each and every Tree House product.

After a year trial run with a small second store at Revival in Bee Cave, The Tree House opened our second permanent location in Sept 2018, in our hometown of Austin! Our Austin store is located at 701 S Capital of Texas Hwy #D480 in the Village at Westlake shopping center (Bee Caves Rd and 360, near Tacodeli, Office Depot, and P Terrys.) We are so thrilled to have this boutique in our amazing hometown of ATX! We couldn't be happier to get to play both country mouse and city mouse with our two stores!

We are so happy to share our love of architectural antiques, Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, bohemian apparel and decor, rustic accents, art by Eli Halpin and other local artists, unique furniture, vintage one-of-a-kind finds, and our love of color and humorous and fun gifts with our customers.

We hope you enjoy your visit and we thank you for shopping small!

COVID-19 Update: Our stores were temporarily closed mid-March to mid-May 2020 due to shelter in place orders. We did not lay off any staff members and we still have full rent to pay, so we are doing our best to improve our e-commerce to try and stay afloat. To those of you who are supporting small businesses during this terrible pandemic and economic fallout, from the bottom of our hearts and on behalf of small businesses everywhere, THANK YOU! Small businesses like us will not make it through the next year without your support and we truly could not be more grateful for each and every one of you.
